Community Guidelines
NaijaLoop works because people trust it. These guidelines exist to keep it that way, for everyone posting a question, starting a thread, or listing something for sale.
The short version
- Be honest about who you are and what you're selling.
- Treat other members the way you'd want to be treated in person.
- No scams, no spam, no harassment.
- If something feels off, report it. Don't escalate it yourself.
In the forum
Post in the right board. It helps others find your question, and keeps each community focused.
No hate speech, threats, or harassment. Disagreement is fine. Attacking people isn't.
No spam or repeated self-promotion. Sharing your work occasionally is welcome; flooding boards with the same link isn't.
Give credit, don't plagiarize. Quote sources when you're sharing someone else's work or words.
Keep NSFW and graphic content off the platform. This includes images, links, and descriptions.
In the marketplace
Describe items accurately. Condition, price, and photos should match what a buyer actually receives.
No prohibited items. Weapons, illegal substances, counterfeit goods, and stolen property have no place here.
Meet safely. For in-person exchanges, choose public places, ideally during daylight, and let someone know where you're going.
Verify before you pay. Use the in-app "Contact seller" flow so there's a record of the conversation, and be wary of anyone pushing you to pay upfront outside the platform.
Rate honestly. Seller ratings only work if they reflect real experiences, good or bad.
Verification and badges
A Verified Professional badge means a member has submitted proof of a professional credential that our team reviewed. A CAC Verified badge means a business account has submitted proof of registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Neither badge is a guarantee of quality or an endorsement, it's a signal that someone took the extra step to prove who they are.
Moderation
Every thread and listing is screened before it's visible to others. Most posts pass straight through; some are flagged for a human moderator to review, and content that clearly breaks these guidelines is rejected. If your content is rejected and you believe that's a mistake, you can submit an appeal and a moderator will take another look.
Repeated or serious violations can lead to content removal, posting restrictions, or account suspension.
See something wrong?
Use the "Report" link on any thread, reply, or listing. Our moderation team reviews reports and takes action where needed. For anything urgent, email hello@naijaloop.com.
