The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has cautioned the Nigerian military that it should deal with the real safety and security challenges confronting the nation at the moment as opposed to stopping them from burying His Royal Greatness Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and his partner, parents of the leader Of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The Army was observed patrolling aimlessly and setting up illegal roadblocks around the vicinity of Eze Kanu’s Home in Afaraukwu, Abia State, in anticipation of the upcoming burial event next week.
The Nigeria Army which is made up of thousands of “rehabilitated” Boko Haram members is very notorious for stirring up trouble & shooting innocent unarmed civilians but run when trouble comes knocking has been warned to steer clear of the event.
The warning by the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB was conveyed by its media publicity secretary, comrade Emma Powerful insisted that the army would certainly not stop it from carrying out the interment ceremony of Kanu’s mom and dads.
The funeral has been fixed for February 14, 2020.
Emma Powerful, in a statement, said that the military had deserted its core task of defending the country as well as was currently in the Afaraukwu community in Umuahia, Abia State, harassing and also terrorizing the indigenes.
Powerful claimed they were notifying the global community that prep work for the interment of Kanu’s parents was proceeding as planned, including that absolutely nothing would stop it.
He claimed that the Nigerian Army was squandering its time as well as useful resources attempting to halt something they recognize they were unable of stopping.
“Burial of the dead is a process older than man itself,” he said.
He questioned just how the government of Nigeria can validate the release of soldiers to the place of a funeral “while terrorists are hectic making the lives of honest residents a nightmare.”
According to IPOB, “What Buratai and his soldiers are carrying out in Umuahia is no different from what terrorists are performing in the North East.
“They get into calm areas, killing, pillaging, destroying as well as kidnapping individuals at will. We remain to attract the attention of the global community to the relentless harassment, humiliation, intimidation of the Afaraukwu community in Umuahia-Ibeku by the very careless and shameless Nigerian military, whose stock-in-trade is to intimidate innocent private citizens.”
The Speaker said that the Nigerian government and its soldiers “are outrageous and disgraceful and also their refusal to challenge armed Fulani Herdsmen insurgency and Boko Haram menace in the north, however, rather picked to concentrate their energy on an internment event in Afaraukwu is a sign of the lost concerns at the heart of this APC regime which has straight resulted in the degeneration of security situation across Nigeria.
” Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, Miyetti Allah Bandits, ISIS in West Africa, Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb are dutifully waiting for Buratai and also his warriors to involve them in a fight in the north.
That is the actual security challenge facing Nigeria, not the burial of His Royal Grandeur Eze Israel Okwu Kanu and also his spouse.”
He claimed that come on 14 February, the parents of the IPOB leader will certainly be buried.
