Rochas Okorocha Says Nigeria Must Declare Itself A Nation At War.

What I think is happening in the North-East is what was happening here in Imo State when I came in 2011

Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has called on the Federal Government to declare Nigeria as a nation at war following the recent killings of soldiers by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State.

Speaking to officers from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, AFCSC, Okorocha gave said it takes a serious war for a country to lose about 10 to 40 soldiers in an attack.

“A nation has to be in a serious war to lose 10 soldiers, not to talk about 40 soldiers. So Nigeria must declare itself as a nation at war.

He went on to compare what’s happening in the north-east to what was happening in Imo state when he came in as a governor.

“What I think is happening in the North-East is what was happening here in Imo State when I came in 2011.

The governor compared the security situation in the North East to what was happening in Imo state when he first resumed as a governor.

“Owerri was notorious for kidnapping and we were number one State for kidnapping when I came into the extent that by 5.30 or 6pm everybody had gone home for fear of being kidnapped. But we tackled it and overcame.”

In another development earlier in the week, the embattled governor was a subject of scrutiny by a supposedly mad man who criticized and declared that the governor must go to prison.

In a video that surfaced on social media, the alleged mad man said:

“I am not against Rochas, now we under hold-up, Weldral road, the suncity construction company that is handling Weldra, the road has been under construction for six to seven months now.

“No headway, the hold-up, the erratic  bottle-neck traffic gridlock that is causing in this Weldra road is something that Nigeria as a whole should be concerned about,”

“Rochas is a hypocrite, eight years in office he did nothing, now he’s trying to bring in some kind of modalities so that we’ll not send him to prison.

“Rochas is going to prison, he wanted to bring in Ogunba to cover up his atrocities, and will still be manipulating Ogunba against us,

“It cannot be, it cannot be. Solidarity continues, Rochas is going to prison, the second governor that will go to prison.”
