The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has scored a victory against the infamous Nigeria Military.
In a remarkable turn of events, The Abia State High Court in Umuahia, ordered the Nigeria Army to pay the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu with the sum of 1 Billion Naira.
The Army was guilty of rights violations and for invading his house on September 14, 2017, in an attempted assassination during code name “Operation Python Dance II“.
The Army was also ordered to issue a formal apology to the victim.
IPOB lawyer, Bar Aloy Ejimakor, in a tweet, said, “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wins as Abia High Court rules that the Federal Government violated his fundamental rights, orders the Federal government to pay N1b to him and issue a letter of apology to him.
“Most importantly, the court recommended political solution to the #Biafran agitation.”
The IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had accused Malami and DSS of violating his fundamental human rights.
He then filed a suit for a sum of N5 billion in damages as monetary compensation for the “physical, mental, emotional, psychological and other damages.
Counsel to the Nigeria Army, Mr. Amos Tory, said the military would react after studying the judgment.
